My Origin Story
I studied Austrian economics and libertarian political philosophy after being inspired by Ron Paul in his 2008 presidential campaign (in particular by this video). I became fascinated by the theory behind Ron Paul’s ideas, which I learned by reading Henry Hazlitt, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard. I became a libertarian within a year and a voluntaryist by 2009 (largely thanks to this book and this website).
I created the YouTube channel Man Against The State in 2010 as a way to help spread libertarian ideas. I made a few successful animated videos, including Government Explained (>500k views) and Law without Government. I began to specialise in audio content, narrating and uploading audio versions of articles, essays, and book chapters that I think ought to be more widely known among libertarians and in general.
I have narrated two audiobooks for the Ludwig von Mises Institute: Murray Rothbard’s The Progressive Era and Mark Thornton’s The Skyscraper Curse, and one for Audible: Chase Rachels’s A Spontaneous Order.
Where To Find Me
ManAgainstTheState.com is the best place to find all my work. It organises and showcases my video and audio work, hosts my blog, and provide links to the resources that influenced me on my journey to voluntaryism.
My YouTube channel is still up for now, but due to the censorship and bans, I have set up channels on two alt-media video sharing sites: BitChute and Odysee. I will upload my back-catalogue to these new platforms. New content will be posted on all three sites.
The best place to follow me is my Facebook page. I create and share memes, post links to articles, post short thoughts, and let people know when I create some new content. I also have a Twitter page.
